Do you have a great piece in your wardrobe but you never wear it because you’re not sure what to wear with it? You love it, the piece fits perfectly and its a great colour so why doesn’t it work?
Often the solution is right in front of you. Sometimes it’s as simple as playing in your wardrobe and experimenting with what you already have. At other times you may need to invest in one or two pieces to make it work . If this is the case think strategically as any pieces that you introduce should go with at least three other items. If you are buying something to save one piece (unless you absolutely love it), it’s probably not worth the investment.
So it is with a big thank you to Amanda for volunteering the first ‘tricky’ piece.
A gorgeous grey sequin Country Road vest.
Amanda purchased the vest 4 years ago and was attracted to the sparkles – ‘I was excited by the sparkles but have only worn it twice’.
How do I wear it?
From casual, smart casual to relaxed evening. It’s a great neutral piece with an edge that can be dressed up and down. I would pair it with other neutrals such as white, cream, beige through to black as adding a bold colour would take away from the vest.
Amanda already had so many great pieces in her wardrobe that we found lots of items to go with her gorgeous sequin vest. My favourite look is combining the vest with a white tee and a pair of jeans. So simple, natural and relaxed but giving it an edgy vibe which I love.
Here is a look at all the other beautiful pieces that we found in Amanda’s wardrobe that would work really well with the vest.
From L-R: Brown Sandals (Country Road), Denim Skirt (Witchery), Cream Shorts (Country Road), Beige Embellished Cuff (Seed), Black Sandals (Country Road), Beige Singlet (Country Road), Grey Sequin Vest (Country Road), Black Maxi Dress (Marcs), Black Tube Skirt (Country Road).
For a casual look team the vest with a tee or singlet and denim skirt or shorts and some flats. Whilst balmy summer evenings are perfect for dressing up a black maxi dress or skirt and adding a pair of heels.
