Projecting a consistent, polished and professional image tells the world that you offer a quality service or product.
Your image is vital to your personal and professional relationships. Whatever skills and experience you have, the way you present yourself underpins how clients and colleagues perceive you. Sometimes your presentation doesn’t reflect the actual image you want to project. This can impact your credibility – and that of the organisation you represent.
We work with organisations and individuals to find their way through the maze of do’s and don’ts to achieve a look that suits their position, personality and lifestyle.
The Style Liberation Team
I was a style tragic! I loved clothes but I had no idea how to pull it all together. Sometimes I got it right, but ‘wow’ sometimes I got it very wrong. I remember turning up for interviews with large banking institutions in London with slightly crazy hair (blonde, red with hints of purple). Newly arrived from Australia I wondered why I didn’t make it past the first interview. One dye job later and I was employed.
What I learnt was first impressions matter. How we present ourselves impacts on how others see us.
Before Style Liberation, I worked in the corporate sectors in London and Canberra. I’ve seen first-hand how many wrestle with those essential questions: how do you dress to project a confident, corporate edge? How do you balance a personal style with the expectations around your role? I’ve also seen how simple changes in how we present can elevate a person’s whole outlook.
So much of our confidence and self esteem is linked to how we look and although there are many things that we can’t change, we can enhance our appearance by doing some simple things like choosing the best colours and shapes that flatter our colouring and body shape. That’s what I love. It’s as simple as understanding what works for you and what doesn’t. We guide you through the whole process and show you how to put it into practice.
There’s nothing better than seeing the smile on someone’s face when they look in the mirror and love what they see.
I spent my 20’s looking decidedly mumsy. Now, don’t get me wrong, mums are rad! But, I didn’t become one until my mid 30’s. Blink, now I’m on the other side of 40!
I saw the light in 2004. Since then, I have never worn so much colour or been so sure of what I can wear well. This I can credit to one little interaction with the Ms Fiona Keary herself. It went a little something like this:
Fiona: “I’m giving these clothes away.”
Me: “Excuse me, what?”
Fiona: “I’ve had my colours done and these are completely wrong for me.”
Me: “That is [expletive]! You look great in those!”
Fiona: “Don’t be cynical. Go have a consult.”
So I did!
There was no denying it! The wrong colours were so wrong but the right colours, oh so right. Be gone dark circles and greenish tinge and hello holiday glow. Add to this, a few years later, a very fun style ‘sesh’ with (the newly qualified Image Consultant) Ms Keary and, ‘voila’ I found me.
Besides the obvious (and awesome) benefit of knowing how to make the best of what I have, I have reaped the practical benefits: saving time and money. Entering a retailer, taking a quick scan and within seconds knowing whether they have anything for me and not spending precious dollars on items that languish, unworn, in my wardrobe: Priceless!
Now here I am, the biggest cynic morphed into biggest believer and wanting to ‘spread the gospel’. Slaves to fashion, need not apply. It’s about living your style…..When it’s yours, it’s easy…..It’s freeing…..It’s (style) liberation!
“I went to Style Liberation as I thought my style needed to be ‘freshened up’! I liked Fiona instantly as her warmth, sincerity and sense of humour make her very comfortable to work with. After going through the experience I feel I own my style, modern, feminine and, distinctly my own. My shopping experiences are easier as I only try on clothes in my ‘colours’ and ‘styles’.
I would certainly recommend Style Liberation for anyone, who like me, needs to ‘freshen up their wardrobe’ and wants to have a fun and personalised fashion experience.”
